The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is the newest TAE qualification and has updated from the TAE40116 to the TAE40122.
The new qualification has an additional 2 units of competency and additional changes to the core and elective requirements. These changes allow organisations more flexibility around the style of TAE course they deliver and which areas they wish to put an emphasis on. RAM Training Services has structured the TAE40122 course to be more relatable to those working in the training industry, with a focus on the delivery of training sessions and assessing of individuals.

The Distance Learning + 3-Day Live Virtual Workshop course gives participants the flexibility to complete the course at their own pace, as self-paced study but with the addition of a 3 day live virtual workshop, to cover of the validation activitiy requirements, saving students from needing to source their own qualified trainer and assess. All Distance Learning + 3-Day Live Virtual Workshop participants have access to the same support as the Distance Learning Standard course, with the addition of 3 virtual days in class.
As part of the Trainer and Assessor course requirements, participants completing the course via distance learning must have access to the following:
1 person face-to-face for 3 x 30min one-on-one presentation session
A group of 4 people face-to-face for 3 x 30min presentation session (cannot include the 1 person from the one-on-one).

5-Day Face to Face Accelerated Program
This kickstart program combines self-paced study with interactive workshop days, featuring pre-course work, a 5-day in-class workshop, and post-course study. Before attending, participants complete pre-recorded lectures to build foundational knowledge and prepare three presentations to deliver on the final day. The workshops, held face-to-face in Southport, Paddington, Mt Gravatt, Cairns, and Perth, guide participants through key assessment tasks with trainer support, equipping them with the skills and confidence to complete remaining work from home.
Participants have up to 12 months to complete the TAE40122 post course work from home after the 5 day workshop. How long the post-course work takes is down to the time and effort that each individual puts into their assessment tasks and activities. Post-course work is made up of a variety of tasks and activities, there are short answer questions, case scenarios, validation activities, and presentations.
Participants completing the course via the 5-day Face to Face Workshop, must have access to the following:
A group of 4 people face-to-face for 3 x 30-min presentations (the participants must be in the same room as you). You can record this using family, friends or co-workers and submit the recording for assessment.
Video evidence of completing the above must be provided to RAM Training Services.

5-Day Virtual Accelerated Program
The TAE40122 is also offered through live virtual classes, designed as a kickstart program that blends self-paced study with interactive online workshop days. The course includes pre-course work to complete before attending five days of live virtual classes, followed by post-course study. Before the workshop, you’ll watch pre-recorded lectures to build foundational knowledge, then during the five-day sessions, you’ll work through assessment tasks with trainer guidance and support, developing the skills, knowledge, and confidence to complete the remaining tasks from home.

3-Day Virtual Essentials Program + Mentoring
The Certificate IV TAE Distance Learning + Mentoring course, gives the participants the flexibility to complete parts of the course from home at their own pace, but with the addition of a 3-day virtual Assessment & Validation Workshop, and tailored one on one mentoring sessions, via fortnightly 30-min Zoom meetings, as well as phone and email support.
This delivery method allows for customised support from the trainer as well as the ability to cover off the assessment tasks that need to be recorded, and/or need a qualified VET Trainer in order to lead the assessment tasks. (Presentations will still be required to be recorded) Participants have up to 18 months to successfully complete their assessments from home.

How Long Will It Take Me To Complete This Course In Full?
You have up to 18 months to complete the full TAE40122 course, although the expected duration is approximately 6 months - dependent on each individual’s personal circumstances, commitments and experience.
What Resources Will I Need In Order To Complete This Course?
You will need access to the internet, a computer/laptop with Microsoft Office, and a printer.
How Often Will I Need To Update My Qualification?
This will depend on if and when ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority), the governing body, decide a change or update is required for this qualification.
Is This The Most Current Training And Assessment Course?
The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment was released in December 2022, and is the most current course available. This course supersedes the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
I Have A TAE40116 Qualification. Do I Need To Upgrade To The New TAE40122 Qualification?
If you currently hold a TAE40116 Qualification, you do not have to upgrade to TAE40122. These courses are considered equivalent. If you hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment qualification and are looking to upgrade, please check out our CERT IV TAE40116 upgrade course to ensure your training is up to date.
Distance Learning
The Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122) Distance Learning option offers flexible, self-paced study you can complete from home over up to 18 months. This format is ideal for those already working in an RTO or with easy access to qualified VET Trainers/Assessors.
Note: If you lack access to a VET Trainer/Assessor, consider the 3-Day Essentials or 5-Day Accelerated programs, as they cover these requirements via workshops.
You will also need: Internet, Microsoft Office, Adobe (free version), and a computer/tablet.
Essential Resources You Must Source
To complete the course 100% via Distance Learning, you must arrange access to the following, which are not provided:
1. Qualified VET Trainer/Assessor:
To act as the lead validator for 9 validation activities.
To witness you completing 6 assess competency tasks.
2. Additional Participant: To act as a trainer and take part in the 9 validation activities.
3. Audience for Presentations: You must deliver three $\times$ 30-minute one-on-one sessions and three $\times$ 30-minute group sessions (to 4 people) to a face-to-face audience (over 15 years old). These must be recorded or observed by a qualified VET Trainer/Assessor.
